Translating our Modern Tower of Babble
About this publication
Welcome! I am Suki Wessling, host and producer of The Babblery on KSQD Radio. On The Babblery Substack, I write about topics introduced by my show guests, topics I’m fascinated by, and random topics that catch my ear. In other words, you won’t find me laser-focused on one subject—I love to explore the babble of modern living.
About the podcast
The Babblery radio show and podcast features conversations about who we are and how we got this way. Modern humans can seem like the ancients building the Biblical Tower of Babel, cursed by God/nature never to understand each other. As Visiting Translators at the Tower of Babble, our guests delve into their work, their research, and their own experiences to try to explain the bits they've learned about Earth's most perplexing species. Though we all speak different languages, here at The Babblery we aim to promote understanding, one conversation at a time.
The Babblery is produced by Suki Wessling with the support of KSQD Radio in Santa Cruz, California. For more information, visit Babblery.com.

Women are People
The Babblery features mostly women’s voices, with occasional guests whose work intersects with the female experience. Why not call it a show “for women”? Because women are people. And people should be interested in each other. No male interviewer who primarily features male guests is expected to say that his podcast is “for men.” The Babblery is not “for women.” It is for people, about people, helping people understand each other, one babble at a time.
